P4 LIPS are currently studying Unit 2 in Social Studies - Money.

With APEC upon us and many countries (21 to be exact) from around the world descending on Thailand over the coming weeks, the P4 LIPS students and Ms. Jacquie decided that we would look at different currencies from around the world.
We had a very wide assortment of coins and notes to look through varying from Australian Dollars, US Dollars, Lao Kip, Singapore Dollars, Euros, British Pounds, Vietnam Dong, Canadian Dollars, Thai Baht, Myanmar Kyat, Cambodian Riel and South African Rand just to name a few.
We compared the safety aspects, colours and value of each note and coin and then discussed their value in Thai baht using the current exchange rate.
We all had a great time looking and playing with the money and checking it's worth. The Australian Dollars were by far our favourites as they are incredibly bright coloured, different sizes and they are all made plastic just like the current Thai 20 baht, making them very difficult to copy.
It was a really fun lesson and we loved playing with all of the different money and look forward to learning more about money over the coming weeks.
